Sacred Medicine Sanctuary is highly responsive to customer needs and makes every effort to develop new products that meet those needs. We have grown over a period of many years to our present product line, one that includes about 75 extracts of single herb extracts in organic alcohol and/or pure vegetable glycerin. We also have almost 100 formulas, teas, and preparations for topical use as well as a very fine line of about 50 absolutely pure essential oils. All of our products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Below, you find the newest additions to our product line.

Ayur Rinse, 2 oz.

This blend of herbs and essential oils was formulated to address most of the underlying causes of oral infection as well as the risks associated with periodontal issues. Astringent herbs help to tighten the gums. The three fruits used to make triphala support the eliminatory organs and provide major antioxidant protection. The demulcent herbs support moisture in the mouth. The heart herbs strengthen the heart that is at risk of infection from the mouth. The aromatic herbs and oils disinfect and freshen the breath, relieving most mouth odor, and tulsi has to been added to help with fluoride toxicity and support tranquility while restoring harmony to the mouth and gums.

Alcohol:

Contents: Arjuna, Manjistha, Hawthorn Berry, Amla, Bibhitaki, Haritaki, Licorice, Holy Basil, Fennel, Honey, Organic Alcohol, Vegetable Glycerin, Distilled Water and essential oils of Peppermint, Fennel, Cinnamon, Myrrh, Tulsi, and Clove Buds.

Bibhitaki Extract, 2 oz.

Bibhitaki is a tropical fruit found throughout India. It is about the size of a large walnut and is primarily astringent in taste. Bibhitaki is one of the three fruits in the famous triphala formula and is the preferred herb for regulating kapha. This means it is used when there are kapha accumulations in the lungs, ears, sinuses, throat, liver, and urinary tract. It is astringent and therefore absorbs the excess moisture of kapha. It has some lesser known value for treating tropical conditions such as diarrhea, pulmonary eosinophilia, and allergic reactions, very likely parasitic in origin. It is also one of the herbs used in oral health, but it usually the shell that is made as a decoction and then used as an oral rinse.

Alcohol: 24-26%

Bitter Melon Extract, 2 oz.

Bitter melon was introduced to America from Africa about 500 years ago. It has a rich history folkloric uses, but is prized today mainly for its effectiveness in managing blood sugar. Recent studies support its use by diabetics as well as certain cancer patients.

Alcohol: 39-41%

Contents: Momordica charantia aerial parts in distilled water and organic alcohol.

Brahmi Elixir, 4 oz.

This formula was developed by Ingrid Naiman to promote removal of the obstacles to higher consciousness. It contains tamarind to help remove the damage caused by fluoride, the two "Brahmis", Gotu Kola and Bacopa, to aid memory, concentration, and acuity, boswellia to relieve edema in the brain as well as parasites, ashwagandha for neuroregeneration and stamina, and guduchi for detoxification and longevity. It is a true honey elixir with the finest quality Ayurvedic herbs available today.

Alcohol: 19-21%

Contents: proprietary blend of Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica) aerial parts, Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) root, Nira-Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri aerial parts), Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) fruit, Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) fruit, Shallaki (Boswellia serrata) resin, Amla (Emblica officinalis) fruit, and honey in distilled water, organic alcohol, and vegetable glycerin.

Guggul Extract, 2 oz.

Guggul is very similar to myrrh and is widely used in Ayurveda to increase metabolism. Being thermogenic, it is slightly deranging to pitta but very useful for kapha disorders, including obesity and congestion. It is also used to regulate the thyroid and is considered beneficial for vata types unless the patient is suffering from spasms or hiccups. It should not be used during pregnancy. Guggul reduces stickiness and is therefore considered preventative for people at risk of strokes and heart attacks.

Contents: 1:1 extract of Commiphora mukul resin in Organic Alcohol and Distilled Water.

Hibiscus Elixir, 4 oz.

This formula is rich in free radical scavenging anti-oxidants and herbs that strengthen the heart and nourish the blood. It was developed to help regulate electrolytes and heart rhythm. It pacifies deranged vata and promotes better regeneration during sleep by reducing restlessness due to vata.

This blend has been formulated for people who are traveling and who might be exposed to a wide range of exotic infections for which they have little ummunity. It contains some of the strongest detoxifying and immune enhancing herbs along with herbs that enhance stamina and protect against nausea and loss of intestinal flora. It is also part of a travel kit and is bottled in a small size that meets airline regulations for carry on items.

Intesti Guard, 2 oz.

This blend of herbs has been formulated to protect the gastrointestinal tract, especially when traveling in third world countries or any area where there is poor hygiene or risk of infections. The formula is both detoxifying and carminative, meaning it cleanses but also relieves nausea and indigestion. It is one of four formulas comprising our travel kit and meets airline regulations for carry on items.

Manjistha Extract, 2 oz.

Manjista is the main blood cleansing herb in the Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia. What is unique about manjistha is that it supports deep detoxification without precipitating imbalance or undesirable side effects. It mainly supports blood cells and muscles, but the roots are astringent and can be used to stop dysentery. Manjistha helps to eliminate excess pitta and aids in the removal of toxins from the blood, liver, kidneys, and skin. It is the primary herb used in all blood purification formulas as well as preparations that improve the complexion. As a rasayana herb, it is interesting to note that even though it is detoxifying, it is also pacifying.

Ojibwa Detox, 4 oz.

This is our version of the well-known Essiac formula used by Rene Caisse after learning about it from the husband of a breast cancer patient who attributed her survival to four herbs used by the Ojibwa Indians to treat malignant conditions. The name is Caisse spelled backwards. According to the those who have studied the formula, all four herbs normalize bodily systems by purifying the blood, promoting cell repair, and aiding effective assimilation and elimination. When combined, their separate beneficial effects are synergistically enhanced. We have named this Ojibwa Detox to give credit to those who passed the recipe to others and to emphasize that our view is that the formula is primarily detoxifying.

Alcohol: 32-34%

Contents: Proprietary Extract: Burdock (Arctium lappa) root, Sheep Sorrel (Rumex ocetosella) leaf, Slippery Elm (Ulmus rubra) bark, and Turkey Rhubarb (Rheum palmatum) bark in Organic Cane Alcohol, Distilled Water, and Vegetable Glycerin.

Para Plus has been formulated specially for people who are traveling in third world countries where the risks of parasitic infections are high. The formula has been put into a small bottle to conform to airline regulations, and it is also part of a travel kit that includes a jet lag formula, intestinal formula, and immune formula. This formula is spicy and bitter and contains some of the strongest anti-parasitic herbs known. It should only be used when there is reason to suspect infection.

The sattvic state of mind is the yogic ideal. It is tranquil and harmonious. This formula has been developed for those who yearn for a peaceful and calm mind. It is a gently nourishing tonic, made in honey, and provides support for those who tend to become nervous when under stress. It relies heavily on rasayana herbs, all of which are regarded as longevity herbs in Ayurvedic medicine. Rasayana herbs are also antioxidants and most are adaptogens as well.

Sea Buckthorn, Ecocert Organic, CO2, 5 ml.

This CO2 processed berry is a thick, viscous deep reddish orange color. While rich in color and antioxidants, there is not so much aroma. Most people using this product would add it to a carrier oil or cream and use it for skin care. It can also be added to a product simply to provide color and vitamins for the skin.

Sea buckthorn is mentioned in ancient Tibetan medicinal books dating back more than a thousand years.The fruit oils are extremely high in betacarotene and are used to aid cellular regeneration, especially after exposure to burns whether from the sun or radiation. The texture is very smooth. The thick berry oil disperses in carriers and can be mixed with coconut oil or something very much more exotic.

Stone Breaker Extract, 2 oz.

Phyllanthus amarus in known in South America as "chanca piedra" or breaker of stones. There, it is used mainly for kidney stones but also for gall stones and many other disorders ranging from malaria to liver cancer. In Ayurvedic medicine Phyllanthus amarus is known as bhumi amalaki. It is revered as a major detoxifying and liver rejuvenative herb. It is recommended that it be used in small amounts over a long period of time. Modern studies support traditional uses and suggest that Phyllanthus amarus prevents mutation of liver cells when exposed to carcinogens.

Alcohol: 39-41%

ToxiFree, 2 oz.

This formula uses Ayurvedic herbs with a long-time history of usefulness in everything from detoxifying snake venoms to severe chemical toxicity. It supports the eliminatory channels as well as the heart, liver, and lymphatic system so as to make for smooth excretion of chemical toxins. We suggest starting with very small doses and working up to larger doses. Depending on the starting point, most people will want to use this for at least two months and perhaps much longer.

Holy basil is one of the premier herbs of the Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia. It is a major rasayana herb and a valuable nervine. Together with gotu kola, this tea is calming and gently detoxifying. It acts specifically on the brain and nervous system, but with the addition of lemongrass and ginger, this tea also aids digestion. The flavor is greatly enhanced by the zesty additions that have carminative properties. When formulating this tea, we knew what we had to do to create something superb! Try it warm a few hours before bedtime or on ice during summer days. Use the leftover as a hair rinse! All the ingredients of this tea are 100% organic.
