Mold Infection

Mold is almost ubiquitous and mold infection has reached epidemic proportions. This is partly due to changes in construction, such as the use of materials that do not breathe, as well as heating and cooling systems that have condensation, but mold can be found almost anywhere: food, any organic materials, including bedding, carpets, and padded furniture. It is also present on some electronic equipment, such as computer monitors. It is almost indestructible, but it can be inhibited. In general, there are three factors that should concern everyone exposed to mold: allergic reactions, tissue destruction due to colonization of mold, and mycotoxins that can persist for decades after the original exposure.

Mycotoxin Cleansing Herbal Formula Based on Research of Ayurvedic Herbs

Mold Chikitsa, 4 oz.

Many molds produce mycotoxins, the most serious of which is usually taken to be ochratoxin A. This is produced by some types of aspergillus and penicillium and can be found in food as well as in individuals infected with viable mold. Even long after the mold has been eliminated, these carcinogenic toxins may remain in the body: in the blood, liver, kidneys, stomach, lymph nodes, etc. In an Indian study, the four herbs in this formula were taken for 17 weeks with significant benefit. It is recommended that this product be used in conjunction with mycotoxin binding clays such as Montmorillonite and bentonite.
